Anandalok Trust for Education and Development a non-profit organisation, was established with an aim to create quality education opportunities for out-of-school children in Bangladesh for pre-primary and primary level and to support self-help initiatives of marginalised communities who are deprived of their rights and entitlements. Anandalok Trust also strives to the capacity building and resources mobilization for poverty alleviation and the benefit of the grassroots by imparting new technologies, ideas and generation, research, dissemination and application of appropriate technologies contributing towards social and economic development.

Since 2008, before being formally registered as an organisation in 2017, Anandalok Trust members have been providing technical supports for improvements in different areas, e.g. teaching-learning methods, capacity building of teachers and staff members and fundraising to strengthen the sustainability of Anandalok schools. Currently, Anandalok Trust is also working actively to mobilise local communities, volunteers and private supporters, regular donors for ensuring the sustainability of all Anandalok schools.

Yes, Anandalok Trust is a registered non-profit organization at the ‘Office of NGO Affairs Bureau’ under ‘the provision of The Foreign Donations (Voluntary activities) Regulation act 2016’. The registration number is 3297 from 13/06/2022 to 12/06/2032

Anandalok Trust is also registered at the ‘Office of Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms’ under the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The registration number S-13798/2022.

The schools are located in remote areas of Bangladesh, at present in the districts of Gaibandha, Kushtia, Nilphamari, Panchagarh and Rangpur. Most of them are located in the embankment and char areas– a landscape shaped by the Teesta, Padma, Gaurai and Jamuna river.

The curriculum of National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) is followed to keep the students in the mainstream education system. Furthermore, Anandalok School curriculum promotes the intellectual, social, physical and personal development of the students by providing opportunities for creative projects, sports and cultural activities. After one year of pre-primary education and five years of primary education, the children participate in the final examinations.
